"twinturbobmw" (twinturbobmw)

What buildsheet is about is choosing a car and finding parts to create a car meeting the requirements and budget. (e.g. lemons car, $500) You are free to "buy" any cars and parts however I might add in little touches such as "The car must have less than 120hp stock. Or parts must be 50 US state legal." But because this is the first Buildsheet, I'll leave it open to just a topic and budget. I encourage you to modify the car to your personality and what you like. Make the car your own. Here's the criteria:
Topic: Droptop Canyon Cruiser
Budget: $45,000
Extra Rules: The car must be a soft-top. That means no SL style folding metal roofs!

Maybe not this low, but an FC convertible with a 3 rotor or a really well built 13B. Full suspension rebuild with Ohlins and heim joints and man, $45k is a lot of money. Spend the rest on gas.

Boom. Alternatively, I could get this and use the remaining cash for a supercharger and some other upgrades.

1961 Lincoln Continental Convertible. Preferably black body, black interior, white top. Lower it just a tad and swap in some tasteful aftermarket rims.

Can I have a custom Fiat Panda convertible? Ought to be easily doable for ten, twenty thousand at most, leaving plenty over to swap in a turbo rotary engine.

AP2 S2000 preferably a 2005 so I can still retain the throttle cable. Put the money into boosting it to get ~400-450 at the wheels, beef up the differential as it would implode at that power level. Then buy the whole Cusco catalog of chassis bracing for it and slap on a set of Moton's or Oehlins coilovers. I'd have it riding on CE28-N wheels in a 17x9 all around and it would be riding on some nice R compound tires. I'm pretty sure $45 k can accomplish that. . .

Get Fox body mustang convertible with the 2.3 4-pot.
Swap in Ecoboost drivetrain.
Buff the suspension.
Buff the brakes.
Total cost: 20,000 for a very well done one.
Spend the rest on a fiesta ST

There's a lot more that $45k in that car... I was pretty conservative with my numbers. There's a reason they don't add up to 45.
